Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols will provide reassurance to those on site, while your commitment to exceptional customer service and strong communication will foster a welcoming atmosphere. Pay Rate : $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Mon 09 : 30 PM - 05 : 30 AM

Tue 09 : 30 PM - 05 : 30 AM

Fri 09 : 30 PM - 05 : 30 AM

Sat 09 : 30 PM - 05 : 30 AM

Sun 09 : 30 PM - 05 : 30 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities and / or incidents to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues within the location.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while on patrol.
  • Complete required reports and logs in a timely and accurate manner as directed by Allied Universal and site procedures.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
