Engineering Equipment Operator Leader

Overview

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position : Operate tractor and heavy equipment, along with using hand and power operated garden tools in accomplishing trades and labor work.

Responsibilities

• Work under a supervisor who issues instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines and relies upon the incumbent to ensure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group.
• Serve as a working leader of 3 or more employees.
• Ensure that needed plans, materials and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
• Work along with other employees and sets the pace, performing non-supervisory work of the same kind and level as that performed by the unit .
• Operate various heavy equipment.
• Load dump trucks with sand, gravel, earth or refuse.
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
