Must-Have :
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.
Experience in Physical Therapy preferred.
Must hold a current and valid driver's license.
Must have motor coordination, strength, and physical abilities to perform all job duties.
Description :
Full-time physical therapist position available.
The physical therapist will plan, interpret, and implement specific rehabilitation treatment programs for patients.
This will be done in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and state laws.
The goal is to provide high-quality rehabilitation services.
The position primarily involves an outpatient orthopedic caseload.
Additional responsibilities include inpatient and swing bed therapies.
Supervision is provided by the Rehab Services Director.
The role requires planning and evaluating patients' treatment programs in coordination with medical staff.
The therapist will recommend changes as needed and administer treatment programs developed by therapists and physicians.
Clarification of physician’s treatment instructions is expected.
The therapist will confer with physicians and medical staff on patient care issues.
Evaluating patient needs is a critical responsibility.
The therapist will discuss conditions and treatment plans with patients, families, and medical staff.
Monitoring patient progress through evaluation of charts and reports is required.
Billing procedures must be followed while billing patients.
The therapist will recommend physical therapy policies and procedures concerning services provided.
Maintaining quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control is essential.
The therapist will recommend solutions to patient care problems.
Maintaining patient records, charts, and discharge summaries is required.
Educating patients and family in proper care and use of various support and exercise programs will be part of the role.
The therapist may assist other therapists in planning treatment programs.
There may be opportunities to conduct or participate in training medical and nursing personnel.
Participation in data collection and preparation of reports will be expected.
Maintaining the department in a clean and orderly manner is important.
Keeping equipment in good working condition is essential.
Attendance at required meetings and participation in committees is necessary.
Strict patient confidentiality must be maintained.
Proficiency in using mechanical and modality equipment and assistive devices is crucial.
The therapist must maintain requirements to keep the physical therapy license active and legal.
Directing assistants and other qualified staff in administering treatment is part of the role.
Maintaining and promoting good health practices is expected.
The therapist will conform to established procedures and policies.
All duties must be performed within the scope of licensure.
Maintaining a current professional license in accordance with state law is required.
Patient matters such as medical treatment, diagnosis, or history must not be discussed outside of the clinical setting to comply with HIPAA.
Compliance with the organization's compliance program is necessary.
Participation in education and training programs regarding compliance is required.
Demonstrating formal greetings with patients, visitors, and staff is expected.
