About the Role :
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our operating room team on a 13-week contract with potential for hire. This position offers Monday–Friday, 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 00 PM shifts with on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric OR, proficiency in multiple surgical specialties, and the ability to anticipate surgeon needs while maintaining strict adherence to safety and sterility standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain the operating room according to procedure and patient needs
- Assist surgeons by anticipating needs and providing instruments, implants, and medications efficiently
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments in accordance with policy
- Handle and label surgical specimens accurately
- Set up back tables, instruments, medications, and supplies according to procedure and surgical service
- Conduct proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
- Participate in continuing education and in-service training to maintain professional competency
Qualifications :
Completion of an approved Surgical Technologist educational program or military equivalent (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or US Public Health Service)Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical TechnologistExperience in two or more surgical specialtiesPediatric OR experience preferredCST-SUR certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency TestingKnowledge of sterile techniques, instrument handling, and OR safety standardsSkills :
