Automation Technician (2nd and 3rd Shift)

Plasman Precision Parts LLC is a precision molding company located in Hopkins, MN. We have an opportunity within our automation team. This role will support production activities within our operations. Here is some information about this role :

The Automation Technician will provide technical expertise to the organization within the role by repairing and troubleshooting production automation and secondary equipment related to injection molding. This position requires someone that feels comfortable with a hands-on approach. Candidates needed for this position must be self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and must be a strong team-player. Leadership and initiative skills are needed for this position to demonstrate required performance. The role reports to the Automation Supervisor and Production Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES :

The primary role can include any combination of the following, but are certainly not limited to :

• Repairing and troubleshooting production automation and secondary equipment, including lugging machines and lugging operations.
• Diagnosing causes and implement long-term corrective action, make necessary repairs, verify effectiveness and necessary data collection.
• Perform set-ups and changeovers of automated equipment in production as required.
• Perform safety checks of automated equipment.
• Assist in training other automation technicians

Understanding of measuring equipment, Metrology and GD&T principles.

PLC understanding, programming, and wiring.
