Vegetation Management Specialist

Job Description : Provide professional vegetation management service by efficiently and safely operating custom-made application equipment in a manner that meets or exceeds company specifications and customer’s expectations.

Responsibilities

1. Herbicide Application from Early February thru November

o Operating truck-mounted sprayers, UTV’s, and occasional backpack sprayers

o Spraying unwanted vegetation on roadsides, equipment yards, driveways, pastures, tree farms, and other rights-of-way

o Around 60 weeknights a year out-of-town, weekends are always home. Nearly all out-of-town work is June thru August.

2. Snow and Ice Removal December thru February

o Apply liquid ice-melt using truck & ATV-mounted sprayers

o Operate skid steer, ATV and truck-mounted snowplows with occasional hand shoveling

3. Shop work September thru January

o Fleet maintenance, vehicle washing, spray system repair / plumbing, and potential for light fabrication, plumbing, and wiring depending on skillset

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Valid US Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Able to pass drug screening and background check
• Able to lift 75lbs and carry 40lbs backpack sprayer on steep & uneven terrain
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra)
• Willing to work 60+ hrs / week in the summer and some partial Saturdays
• Willing to work out-of-town 30-60 weeknights / year
• Willing to work nights as needed in the winter
• Able to pass Commercial Applicator test upon hire
• Able to acquire DOT Interstate Medical Certificate
• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
