Job Description :

\nJoin the dedicated team at Valley Children's Healthcare as a PICU Registered Nurse, providing exceptional critical care to our young patients. This role focuses on caring for critically ill children in a busy Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, requiring both clinical expertise and compassionate communication. The shift schedule is overnight, with 11.5-hour shifts occurring three times a week from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM. This is a dynamic environment that demands vigilance, agility, and a genuine desire to improve pediatric patient outcomes.

What You Bring : \n \n

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice ( California RN license or applicable state license)\n
  • Extensive experience in pediatric nursing, ideally within a PICU setting\n
  • Proficiency in pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and basic life support (BLS) certifications\n
  • Strong critical thinking, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure\n
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams\n
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a dedication to providing high-quality pediatric care\n

    Preferred Education & Experience :

    \n \n

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred\n
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience\n
  • Prior experience working with ventilated and critically ill pediatric patients\n
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Critical Care Registered Nurse Certification (CCRN), or Pediatric Emergency Nurse Certification (CPEN) are highly desirable\n

    Certifications & Licenses :

  • Valid California RN license or applicable state license (must be active and in good standing)\n
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (current and valid)\n
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (current and valid)\n
  • Additional pediatric or critical care certifications are a plus\n
