    Job Description :

    Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Quality Inspector (B) to join our Quality Team in Grand Prairie, TX

    In this role, you will assure the highest quality standards by approving incoming / shipping materials through established incoming processes while recording quality inspection results. You will be required to work with inspection tools, aids and devices to determine tolerances and specification limits. In addition you will be responsible for performing detailed inspections of aircraft components, composite materials, blades, dynamic components, paint, and Back-Shop activities to ensure specifications are met and identify non-conformities.

    Your Challenges : Documentation : 50%

    \n

  • Ensure proper tagging, identification and airworthiness of parts released to Airframe, Engines, and Accessories
  • \n

  • Compares quantity, part number, and serial numbers of items received with procurement data as well as other specifications to ensure the accuracy and completeness of order
  • \n

  • Responsible for accurate batch / Shelf Life Expiration (SLED) input in SAP
  • \n

  • Create, distribute and disposition the monthly SLED report as directed
  • \n

  • Create QNs for non-conforming material detected
  • \n

  • Ensure all materials have required documentation (i.e. 8130-3, EASA Form, Certificate of Conformance)
  • \n

  • Process Goods Receipts during receiving of material
  • \n

  • Document applicable maintenance actions for airframe, engine, blades, accessories and components in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved regulations and company procedures.
  • \n

  • Research airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and alert service bulletins for applicability
  • \n

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, reports, and test specifications
  • \n

  • Properly document items in Quality Quarantine Cage
  • \n \n

    Inspection : 40%

    \n

  • Perform required technical inspections to receive or reject incoming material, airframes, and aircraft components
  • \n

  • Detect and report suspected unapproved parts
  • \n

  • Perform detailed in-process and dimensional inspections for components in electrical backs-hops, manufacturing, composites, blades and dynamic component repair
  • \n

  • Use acoustic tap testing to identify non-conformities in blades and composite materials
  • \n

  • Conduct inspections to determine the serviceability or rejection of manufactured parts, electrical components, aircraft blades, dynamic components and paint
  • \n

  • Inspect aircraft aluminum, titanium or steel structures for cracks, corrosion, damage and improper assembly.
  • \n

  • Determine proper shimming and joining of structures with rivets or other hardware in accordance with design drawings, engineering disposition, and other approved data
  • \n

  • Detect hidden damage during inspections of airframe structures, blades, engines and sub-assemblies that could occur during shipping, receiving, or manufacturing
  • \n

  • Verify build of aircraft system wiring harnesses, connectors and electrical terminations as per design drawings
  • \n

  • Physically and systematically quarantine non-conforming articles and assemblies identified during inspections
  • \n

  • Monitor the use of Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure it is well maintained and current relative to its calibration cycle
  • \n

  • Perform stock inspections / purges when notified of possible non-conforming / suspect material
  • \n \n

    Your Boarding Pass : \n

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • \n

  • Three (3+) years as a technician in aviation maintenance / manufacturing or equivalent related experience
  • \n

  • Meet requirements of 14CFR Part 65.101 and be able to obtain a repairman certificate within 3 months of employment (current Airbus employees) only OR
  • \n

  • Possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • \n

  • Ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documentation
  • \n

  • Familiar with inspection tools, aids, and devices used in determining tolerances and specification limits
  • \n

  • 5% Domestic and International travel availability
  • \n

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
  • \n

  • SAP

    Preferred Education / Skills :

    \n

  • Associates Degree in Aviation or related industry
  • \n

  • Two (2) years quality experience in aviation related field
  • \n

  • FCC 2nd Class License
  • \n

  • Technical knowledge of Airbus Products / Programs
  • \n

  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standards
  • \n \n

    Physical Requirements :

    \n

  • Onsite or remote : 100% Onsite unless on travel.
  • \n

  • Vision : able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Must have correctable near and far vision if applicable.
  • \n

  • Hearing : able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
  • \n

  • Speaking : able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
  • \n

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors) : able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools.
  • \n

  • Carrying : able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs. Daily
  • \n

  • Lifting : able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs. Daily
  • \n

  • Pushing / Pulling : able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
  • \n

  • Sitting : able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Several times a week.
  • \n

  • Squatting / Kneeling : able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
  • \n

  • Standing : able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily
  • \n

  • Travel : able to travel independently and at short notice. 5% or less yearly
  • \n

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents) : able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
  • \n

  • Personal Protective Equipment required : Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators / Masks, and / or Protective Gloves as required by site and / or customer site
  • \n

  • Administrative position only PPE required : Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing / eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
