Job description

HVAC Control Technician - Commercial & Industrial

Location : Huntsville, AL

Pay : $21-$38 / hour (based on experience)

United Trades of America is hiring HVAC Control Technicians for commercial and industrial projects in Huntsville, Alabama. This role focuses on operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing HVAC control systems rather than installing them. The ideal candidate must have a strong electrical background and OSHA certification.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Monitor, control, and adjust HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with building automation and HVAC control systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on control systems, including software and hardware updates
  • Analyze system performance and implement solutions to improve energy efficiency
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and control diagrams
  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other federal / local regulations
  • Coordinate with engineers and facility managers to enhance system reliability
  • Work in fast-paced industrial settings and respond quickly to HVAC system alerts

Job Requirements :

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC controls, electrical systems, or Building Automation
  • Strong electrical knowledge with experience working on high-voltage control panels
  • Understanding of mechanical and automation systems used in commercial and industrial facilities
  • OSHA certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Preferred : Certification in Tridium Niagara programming or related industry standards
