About The Position

Job Summary

• Position : Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem
• Facility : Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital
• Department : All behavioral health units (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
• Beds : 104 beds across five units (24 beds each for 2 adult units, 24-bed geriatric unit, 12-bed pediatric unit)
• Patient Ratios : 1 : 8 (lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric units)
• Required Experience : Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Preferred Experience : Behavioral health nursing experience
• Certifications Required : BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Education Required : Associate s degree in Nursing
• Patient Population : Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adult patients
• Common Diagnoses : Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety
• Duties : Provide nursing care to behavioral health patients, collaborate with shift supervisors, use Cerner EHR, and adapt care to diverse patient populations
• Supervision : Reports to shift supervisors only
• Required Skills : Willingness to work with both adult and pediatric patients
• Dress Code : Blue scrubs required; certain attire is unacceptable
• Equipment : None specified
