Tenure-Track: Assistant or Associate Professor-Mechanical Engineering

The J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering, with the College of Engineering, at Texas A&M University, invites applications for one full-time, tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor-level position with a nine-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon the need and availability of funds, beginning Fall 2026. The department will consider an individual with demonstrated expertise and experience in advanced design and manufacturing; micro- and nano-systems; energy and environment; biomechanics and human performance. Interdisciplinary research and/or collaborative potential contributing to the development of innovative technologies designed to improve human health is also of particular interest. Teaching experience in mechanical engineering courses is also an important attribute for this position.

The successful applicant will be required to teach, advise and mentor graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, participate in all aspects of the department's activities, and serve the profession. We also have approximately 70 masters of engineering students enrolled.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering or science discipline.
