Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) seeks a Director to lead large, complex engagements for private equity clients in the aerospace, defense, aviation, and related manufacturing sectors. The role combines deep industry expertise with consulting rigor to deliver operational improvements, margin growth, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver large, time‑sensitive client engagements, structuring and managing performance improvement plans to completion.Synthesize insights from data, facts, and client discussions to develop findings and make strategic recommendations.Work directly with clients to implement strategic and operational recommendations.Hands‑on experience through consulting projects in areas such as cost transparency, margin and pricing management, sales & marketing effectiveness, global supply chain, operations management, organizational effectiveness, process improvement, and SG&A cost reduction.Maintain client relationships, build credibility, and drive consultant performance within the PEPI practice.Professional Skills
Strong written, oral and analytical skillsSharp data analytics skills (business intelligence, data visualization, etc.)Strong Excel and PowerPoint skillsStructured project management (time, team, and workstream management)Initiative and drive; critical thinking; ability to deliver results on‑time under pressureFlexible and creative thinking; client relationship buildingQualifications
U.S. Citizenship required due to client requirements for some aerospace & defense work.10+ years of relevant work experience.Previous professional consulting or operations experience with a recognized strategy consulting firm REQUIRED.Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time.Depth in Aerospace, Defense or Aviation preferred.Recent project leadership experiences.Experience working with PE and / or PE relationships a PLUS.Benefits & Compensation
Salary range : $150,000–$225,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
