Join our dynamic team at MUSC Clements Ferry as we prepare to open a brand new clinic in December 2025, located at 1101 Waterline St, Charleston. As a CMA, you will be responsible for essential nursing care under the supervision of a physician or licensed healthcare provider. This position is perfect for individuals who excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and have a passion for patient care.

Job Responsibilities :

• Ensure the accurate calibration, cleaning, and scheduled maintenance of clinical / lab equipment in compliance with OSHA, DHEC, and UMA standards; maintain proper documentation.
• Manage patient records and charts, communicating essential information; document test and exam results, and provide education to patients as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, including monitoring supplies and ensuring a safe patient care environment.
• Assist in managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and providing appropriate patient education based on diagnoses and treatments.
• Observe and report on patients' conditions, medication reactions, and treatment responses; triage phone calls and relay necessary information.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures; assist with exams, treatments, and patient sample collections.
• Uphold compliance with all OSHA, DHEC, and UMA policies during clinical functions.

Qualifications :

CMA I Required Minimum Training and Education : High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an accredited medical assisting program and one year of patient care experience preferred.

CMA Certifications : Must be certified through one of the recognized organizations, and hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

LPN I Minimum Training and Education : Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program with a valid LPN license within South Carolina or a compact state.

LPN Certifications : Must hold a current South Carolina LPN License or compact state license, and a BLS certification.

Physical Requirements : Continuous standing, walking, and sitting; ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs; good dexterity and vision; and ability to work in various environments as needed.
