Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical Unit night shift position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and relevant certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital Pediatric Surgical Unit
  • Night shift schedule from 1845 to 0715, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Assignment length is 14 weeks
  • Care involves pediatric surgical patients with varying acuity
  • Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, IV / blood product monitoring, documenting interventions, assisting physicians, and coordinating care
  • Interaction with families is expected for sharing care plans and discharge instructions
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must be able to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
  • Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit needs

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active RN license from Oklahoma or a multistate compact (eNLC) license required
  • Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Some computer skills are required
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
