Senior Manager, Global Digital Payments Partnerships

Amex Digital Labs catalyzes digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers' digital lives. Focus areas include creating industry-leading digital payment solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to create digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends. The Global Digital Payments Partnerships team is responsible for launching, managing, and expanding new digital payments products and partnerships, including Apple and Google Pay, and for launching support for emerging digital payments partnerships. The recent technological progress in AI and the growing ubiquity of AI agents is reshaping today's commerce journey and how Card Members will discover, book and ultimately make purchases. As Senior Manager, you will help bring Amex through this agentic commerce and payments evolution, in partnership with large digital tech players. You will project manage the enterprise-wide workstream by working across internal and external stakeholders, build and evaluate partnership opportunities, lead major contract negotiations and help define the future product roadmap. You will collaborate extensively with the Digital Labs Product team and a broad range of internal stakeholders across Strategic Partnerships, Enterprise Strategy, Network, and GCO, in addition to managing senior-level relationships at external partners.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and thought partnership to influence Amex's broader AI, partnership, and digital wallet strategies
  • Evaluate and prioritize AI-related partnership opportunities with large tech platforms
  • Develop frameworks and processes to streamline onboarding and integrations for both major tech platforms and the long tail of digital wallet and commerce partners
  • Regularly collaborate on and lead conversations and create executive-facing materials

Qualifications :

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions, colleagues at all levels, and with partners
  • Proven track record of strong organizational, prioritization and project management skills. Experience project managing complex and multifaceted workstreams with many internal stakeholders a plus
  • Creative problem-solving skills and comfort operating with imperfect information
  • Strategic thinker with a savviness for new tech, connecting the dots, and thinking three steps ahead
  • Must have strong interest in AI and familiarity with key players and consumer-facing products, strong interest in partnerships, tech trends, and digital products
  • A self-starter with an ability to excel in a dynamic environment and to switch gears as needed
  • 3-5 years of partnerships, business development, or strategy experience
  • Salary Range : $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually bonus benefits
