Description

Under general supervision, this position performs a wide variety of law enforcement duties, including responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, community policing, patrol, traffic, crime prevention, school resource, investigations, and maintaining good community relations. This is a sworn position of Public Safety Officer capable of performing the full range of police and fire duties.

Supervision is received from a Public Safety Sergeant.

Examples of Duties

Essential duties include :

• Successfully complete field training and fire service training.
• Perform the full range of police and firefighter duties.
• Perform the full range of animal control duties.
• Mediate conflict, provide crowd control, and offer general assistance to the public.
• Obtain criminal complaints, serve warrants, and make arrests.
• Gather and document evidence.
• Perform traffic enforcement and control duties.
• Conduct criminal investigations for various violations.
• Write clear and concise reports.
• Perform other duties as required.
