Accounting Specialist - Construction Division

Location : Centennial

Employment Type : Full-Time

Department : Construction Accounting

Salary : $80,000-$85,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Accounts Payable department with invoice entry, coding, and review of daily transactions.
  • Approve AP batches and ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
  • Locate vendors within the ERP system and correctly match invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
  • Review and understand general ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring expenses are recorded properly.
  • Process and reconcile prepaid expenses, including monthly amortizations.
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors to resolve discrepancies, answer inquiries, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Download, organize, and analyze financial data from internal systems for reporting and reconciliation.
  • Manipulate and interpret data in Excel, including the use of VLOOKUP , pivot tables , and basic formulas.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and other accounting duties as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by bringing a friendly, upbeat, and solutions-oriented approach to daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience; construction industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, general ledger accounts, and expense coding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables required).
  • Experience working with ERP / accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive, team-focused attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
