About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : Active and in good standing RN license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have : Clinician must take and pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract.

Description :

Prescreen and auto offer required.

The Progressive Care Unit accommodates up to 20 patients with double occupancy rooms.

General job duties include providing acute care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services.

Equipment utilized in the unit includes Philips cardiac monitors, telemetry, Welch Allyn vital signs monitors, invasive monitoring, Medtronic pacemakers, Cerner EMR, Pyxis medication dispenser, Zoll R series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, and Mistral air warming units.

Required skills include EKG knowledge, IV cardiac medication administration, peritoneal dialysis, management of chronic ventilators, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial or venous sheath care.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 3-4 patients depending on acuity.

Dress code requires navy scrubs and business appropriate hair color.

Training includes fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery care.

Patients may include those from the cath lab with or without intervention, as well as post-operative open heart surgery patients.

Additional care may involve patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic ventilator needs, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease.
