Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) will lead a $500 million business unit specializing in the manufacturing of electrical products and systems. This executive role carries full P&L accountability, overseeing all aspects of operations - including production, engineering, supply chain, finance, sales, and customer success. The GM will drive growth, operational excellence, and profitability while maintaining world-class standards in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
20+ years of progressive leadership experience in electrical product manufacturing (e.g., transformers, switchgear, power distribution equipment, or industrial control systems).
Proven track record managing large-scale operations or business units exceeding $300M $500M in annual revenue.
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, cost control, and financial governance.
Expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and operational transformation.
Demonstrated success in Lean / Six Sigma implementation, capacity expansion, and efficiency optimization.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
Define and execute strategic plans to achieve revenue, margin, and market growth objectives for a $500M operation.
Own full P&L responsibility, ensuring sustainable financial performance and cost optimization.
Identify and develop opportunities for expansion, diversification, and business innovation.
Collaborate with corporate leadership on long-term capital planning, M&A opportunities, and global supply strategies.
Operational Excellence
Lead end-to-end plant and manufacturing operations, ensuring world-class performance in productivity, delivery, and cost.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation across multiple sites.
Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and environmental standards.
Engineering, Product, and Quality Management
Partner with R&D and engineering teams to drive product innovation, standardization, and life-cycle cost improvements.
Oversee quality systems to ensure defect-free products, customer satisfaction, and continuous process enhancement.
Champion digital transformation and Industry 4.0 practices in design and manufacturing processes.
Commercial & Customer Engagement
Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to strengthen market presence in industrial, utility, and infrastructure sectors.
Manage high-value customer relationships and negotiate large-scale contracts with strategic clients and EPC partners.
Drive customer-centric initiatives to enhance responsiveness, reliability, and long-term partnerships.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior leaders across operations, finance, HR, and commercial functions.
Build a high-performance, accountable culture centered on safety, innovation, and results.
Promote collaboration between global and local teams to leverage best practices and operational synergies.
