Inventory Associate

Job Description :

A Distribution and Inventory Specialist manages and coordinates inventory and logistics to ensure efficient and accurate product flow from acquisition to delivery. This professional ensures inventory records are accurate, tracks shipments, orders supply as needed and works to improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Key duties and responsibilities :

Inventory management :

• Assist in developing and instituting the inventory and distribution center for Public Works.
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits, then reconcile them with the data in the inventory management system.
• Track and document all inventory changes, including new shipments, returns, and damages.
• Monitor inventory levels to forecast future needs, place restock orders and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock records by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse and inventory storage space to maximize efficiency and ensure safety and traceability.

Required skills and qualifications :

Experience and education :

Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field may be preferred or required for senior roles.

Experience : 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or logistics role.

Certifications : Certifications for operating warehouse equipment, like a forklift, are preferred.
