Who we are :

The Oxford Seniors Community Adult Day Service (ADS) is designed to provide supervision and support for older adults with cognitive or physical needs in a small group setting. We are open M-F from 8 : 30-4 : 30.

Participants may be experiencing memory impairment or physical limitations which isolate them from the greater community.

Participants find a secure environment, fun activities, and opportunity to socialize. Activities are focused on cognitive skills, and healthy meals and snacks are provided. The atmosphere is one of acceptance and encouragement.

Goals of Community Adult Day Service

To facilitate a level of independence for participants

To provide respite and support for caregivers

To enable participants to remain at home with their families for as long as possible

Who we are looking for :

We are looking for a certified STNA (or similar certification) who enjoys working with older adults. Work is varied, everything from helping clients with toileting to assisting with games and helping on field trips. Maximum staffing ratio of 6 clients to 1 staff member, no client is more than one person assist. Some flexibility available with schedule.

Essential Duties

Provides STNA level of care to Adult Day Service clients, including toileting and personal care.

Supports other staff in caring for senior clients.

Gathers client data, such as blood pressure and weight for monthly health monitoring.

Provides support by assisting clients with activities, including field trips. Remains on-call for staff with similar positions when such staff are absent or on scheduled vacations.

Administers first aid, CPR, as necessary. Maintains appropriate certifications, as required.

Assists in preparing and serving snacks, as requested. Picks up lunches from the hospital, as needed. Maintains clean work areas.

Performs other duties of a comparable level and type.

Skill Requirements

STNA certification (or similar certification)

Highly skilled in providing first aid and CPR.

Skilled in the use of universal precautions for handling bodily fluids.

Skilled in sanitary practices and temperature monitoring in food preparation.

Skilled in the use of proper equipment to monitor blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, and so forth.

Driver's license

Ability to complete Defensive Driving classes, as required by the State of Ohio.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Benefits and wages

$15 per hour, employer SEP retirement contributions, health insurance stipend.
