We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to serve as an expert in complex law enforcement investigations for the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). The position is located in Tumwater and is part of the Legal Affairs Division within the Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead complex criminal investigations, including cases of high public profile and sensitivity.
• Develop informants, sources, and investigative leads.
• Analyze insurance files, law-enforcement documents, and other data using emerging technologies.
• Conduct surveillance, execute warrants, and gather, secure, and safeguard physical, digital, and financial evidence.
• Interview suspects, victims, witnesses, and other parties while establishing rapport and maintaining documentation.
• Write and submit accurate affidavits, reports, and testimony for prosecution.
• Maintain expertise in insurance fraud, financial crimes, corruption, money laundering, and related offenses.
• Collaborate with prosecutors, federal and state agencies (FBI, HHS / OIG, NAIC Antifraud Task Force, NICB), private investigators, and community organizations.
• Apply and interpret state and federal laws, rules of evidence, and procedural statutes.
• Develop and execute investigative, safety, and operational plans.

Employment Details

Full-time, General Service position. Salary range : $6,735 – $9,065 per month. Seniority level : Mid-Senior.
