Description

Position Summary :

Trim and smooth edges and surfaces of green ware prior to bisque firing.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : (Additional duties may be assigned)

95% Finish green ware by trimming and leveling out rough edges to ensure a smooth surface prior to bisque firing.

5% Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience :

High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Ability to use hand tools applicable to trade.

Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

Attention to detail.

Equipment Used :

Rubber scrapers, wire tools, sponges and clay trimmer

Safety Equipment : Safety shoes

Location : Aurora, NY

Physical and Mental Requirements :

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.
• Exerts up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
• Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
