Endeavor Health Services is looking for an experienced and passionate Community Based Peer Specialist to join our team. The Community Based Peer Specialist is an integral part of our team, providing a unique and invaluable contribution to our mission. The Community Based Peer Specialist will have the opportunity to work with individuals and groups in our community to provide support and guidance to those in need. Job Responsibilities

Provide support and resources to individuals struggling with mental health, addiction, and / or homelessness

Develop individualized recovery plans and goals with clients

Facilitate group activities, such as support groups, skill-building sessions, and recreational activities

Maintain open communication with clients, family members, and other stakeholders

Advocate for clients in order to access community resources and services

Connect clients with resources and services in the community

Provide crisis counseling and de-escalation services

Monitor clients progress in terms of goals and objectives

Facilitate referrals to other services and programs

Attend and participate in case reviews, meetings, and trainings

Document client encounters and progress in the organizations medical records system

Participate in outreach activities and events in the community

Job Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED

Must have a CRPA Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

At least one year of experience working in the field of mental health, substance use, or community-based services

Must have a valid NYS driver license and reliable transportation to travel within area county

Knowledge of principles and practices of peer support, recovery-oriented services, and community resources

Demonstrated ability to provide recovery-oriented services to individuals with mental health and / or substance use disorders

Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Ability to effectively engage and build relationships with individuals

Ability to pursue continuing education and professional development

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors

Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to mental health and substance use

Salary starting at $18 - $20 / hour depending on education, credential and experience.
