Senior Manager PMO - Digital Health

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager PMO - Digital Health to lead the delivery of the portfolio within organization. This role is responsible for establishing and overseeing governance frameworks, driving execution excellence, and ensuring alignment of digital health R&D initiatives aligned with corporate strategy.

The Senior Manager PMO will bring strong expertise in Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies to transform how projects are delivered, ensuring flexibility, speed, and compliance in a regulated environment. This leader will partner with cross-functional teams across R&D, regulatory, quality, clinical, IT, and commercial functions to deliver innovative digital health solutions that improve patient outcomes and strengthen our medical device portfolio.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Define and implement the PMO vision, framework, and governance model for Digital Health R&D projects.
  • Champion the adoption of Agile and Scaled Agile practices while integrating them with stage-gate and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to project and program managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Portfolio & Program Management :

  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of a multi-year digital health R&D roadmap using hybrid program management approaches.
  • Establish portfolio tracking tools, Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down charts, PI objectives), and dashboards to measure performance, resource allocation, and ROI.
  • Partner with senior leadership to optimize investment decisions and manage risks across the portfolio.

    • Project Governance & Compliance :

  • Ensure adherence to medical device development standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA 21 CFR Part 11) and data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Standardize best practices in Agile program governance (incremental delivery, program increments, sprint reviews) alongside traditional methodologies.
  • Lead stage reviews, compliance assessments, and ensure Agile processes align with regulated environment needs.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Serve as a bridge between Agile R&D teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication on risks, opportunities, and progress.
  • Support cross-functional Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, system demos, retrospectives).
  • Build strong partnerships with external technology partners, digital health innovators, and research collaborators.

    • Innovation Enablement :

  • Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability across all project teams.
  • Introduce digital tools, Agile portfolio management platforms, and analytics to improve forecasting and decision-making.
  • Lead change management to drive adoption of Scaled Agile practices across the organization.

    • Travel Requirements :

    Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, mostly within US but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.

    Working Conditions :

  • Hybrid Office Environment. However, there may be requirements to work remotely due to COVID-19 or other factors.

    • About You :

  • 10 or more years of product development experience in a regulated space and preferably in the medical device area.
  • Proven experience with leveraging partners and internal teams to deliver on project outcome.
  • 3+ years experience in managing product development in an agile fashion.
  • Strong knowledge of software tools such as JIRA or Azure Devops and collaborative tools such as Confluence and Slack / Teams.
  • Has been a product development engineer early in their career and has been a contributor to complex successful regulated products.
  • Proven expertise in working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where the teams are multi-disciplinary. Thrives under pressure.
  • Has a healthy risk appetite to ensure we continue to deliver innovative and pioneering solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Has executive presence.
  • Has the ability to simplify complex situations so that the team is not overwhelmed.
  • Has a positive can-do-attitude and inculcates the same among other team members.
  • Has proven ability to work with geographically distributed teams and can work with teams with diverse background and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or Electrical Engineering or related fields. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in building digital health and digital therapeutics products.
  • Experience with building smart devices using bio-sensors.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with AAMI-TIR 45 standard.
