About This Position

We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, and result-oriented consultant to support the upstream area of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Unit. As an Infrastructure Public-Private Partnership Consultant, you will contribute to the development of diagnostics, documents, and analytical tools, generate evidence and best practices in PPPs across the region, and provide technical assistance to countries in the region on upstream PPP matters. Additionally, you will assist in the organization and coordination of various upstream analytical and technical assistance initiatives led by the PPP Unit.

You will work in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Unit, part of the Infrastructure (INE) Department, which supports the Bank’s borrowing countries in implementing PPP projects through strengthening regulatory frameworks and institutional capacity, and by providing expertise on project identification, assessment, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the development of regional diagnostic exercises at country and sectoral levels in PPPs.
  • Facilitate the provision of upstream technical assistance to countries, including review of regulatory frameworks, diagnostics of investment cycles, project planning, supervision, monitoring, and performance.
  • Advocate in the management and development of PPP knowledge products, with potential for publication as IDB technical notes, monographs, or working papers.
  • Contribute to analytical inputs for the team and senior management by developing presentations and talking points.
  • Cooperate in administrative and operational management tasks related to upstream PPP activities (budget, reporting, internal processes, and technical cooperation support).

Qualifications

  • Education : Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience : At least 5 years in Infrastructure Public-Private Partnerships, Technical Assistance, Economics, and Policy.
  • Languages : Proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  • Requirements

  • Citizenship : Must be a citizen of one of IDB’s 48 member countries.
  • Consanguinity : No family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
  • Contract Type and Duration

    International consultant, full‑time, 12 to 36 months.
