York Space Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development to cultivate strategic partnerships with government and industry stakeholders, including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and other Intelligence Community (IC) customers. The role involves building strong customer relationships, developing targeted strategies, and driving business opportunities aligned with York’s space capabilities.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain customer relationships across government and industry to drive strategic growth
Advocate for York’s space capabilities and business model within the space ecosystem
Engage in industry day events, local activities, and customer visits
Identify high-value market opportunities, analyze government budgets, and assess customer needs through market and competitive analysis
Provide recommendations and present business development opportunities to pursue
Provide regular updates to guide team strategy and manage the sales pipeline
Collaborate with functional leadership (e.g., CTO, LT, Contracts) to align York offerings with customer needs
Develop innovative capture strategies to secure new business; provide the team with win themes for proposals and white papers
Qualifications
Existing contacts in US Government (Space Development Agency, IC Community, etc.) and the defense industry
Excellent business / strategic acumen and instinct
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workloads
Excellent presentation and customer-facing skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Driven to achieve and deliver consistent high-quality results
Self-motivated and able to work using own initiative
Works well in a team environment and at all levels
Cleared to TS / SCI
