Job Title: Assembly Mechanic

Job Description

Join our team as an Assembly Mechanic, where you will work on assembling mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of paving and construction equipment. You will build custom equipment based on blueprint and schematic specifications, assemble frames, build axles, install motors, air conditioning, and electrical harnesses, while utilizing various tools and equipment to ensure precision and quality.

Responsibilities

• Work on assembly line to build and assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of paving and construction equipment.
• Build custom equipment based on blueprint and schematic specifications.
• Assemble frames, build axles, install motors, air conditioning, and electrical harnesses.
• Utilize click wrench, torque wrench, ratchet, pneumatic pulse tool, pneumatic tool with stall bar, nutrunner, and DC electric wrench.
• Calibrate tools and fixtures as required for the job.
• Extensive use of pneumatic pulse equipment for proper torque.
• Utilize tools on hoses, port fittings, jam nuts, pipe threads, non-ferrous fittings, A/C fittings, special torque, and bulkhead fittings.
• Inspect all equipment to conform to shop standards.
• Work effectively in a team environment and interact with support personnel such as engineering and purchasing.
• Coordinate work to meet changing production schedules.
• Identify and relay information for correction on discrepancies in assembly processes, ., parts shortages, and safety issues.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment assembly or as a mechanic, preferably in auto, aviation, or military settings.
• Proficiency with blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to understand and assemble hydraulics and electrical components.
• Basic understanding of torque patterns.
• Technical understanding of torque, O-Rings, and metric system.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Strong teamwork skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of an automotive technology degree is considered if lacking experience.
• Certified trade school or degree in a related area is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MINNEAPOLIS, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
