Location: Kansas City, MO

Job Type: Hourly Consultant

Hours: $19.25 per hour

Pay: M-F 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Essential Functions:

• Operate high-speed mail inserters, sorters, and finishing equipment in an automated, high-volume environment.
• Perform mail labeling, mail merges, and address cleanup; maintain and update mailing addresses using software.
• Coordinate manual and automated processes for mailing, distribution, and tracking of client materials.
• Handle electronic input, packaging, and posting fulfillment; prepare mail/packages for shipment.
• Receive, sort, and deliver mail, packages, and supplies; maintain logs and accountable mail records.
• Track, trace, and resolve mail issues with USPS, express, and local delivery services.
• Perform quality checks on outbound mail, verify internal addresses, and manage barcode/face-scan tracking.
• Conduct finishing work, including folding, insertion, assembly, and kitting.
• Maintain mailroom security and ensure proper operation and cleaning of all mail/shipping equipment.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and reorder as needed; arrange alternative courier services when required.

Skills:

• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs; follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Intermediate PC skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; mail merge; file downloads; basic formulae; chart creation.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, file conversion, graphic arts applications, and network basics.
• Familiarity with digital front ends, Mac systems (when required), and account-relevant applications.
• Demonstrated use of mail equipment: inserters, finishing equipment, postage meters, envelope printers, scales, Pitney Bowes Mail Management, FedEx systems.
• Strong customer service, multitasking, and communication skills; able to work independently and train others.

Experience:

• 12 years of experience with mail procedures and operating mail equipment.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
