Job description

Scale Clerk

As a Scale Clerk, you will play a crucial role during the harvest season by operating scales, handling paperwork, and providing customer support. You will work across multiple departments, including wash line, storage, and stacking, while ensuring the efficient movement and repair of totes. This position involves weighing in trucks, tracking inventory using scanners and SAP software, and performing various production technician duties.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate scales to weigh in trucks and manage associated paperwork.
  • Provide customer support functions related to scale operations.
  • Work in different departments including wash line, storage (probox production), and stack and store.
  • Clean out used boxes and manage the movement of totes.
  • Repair totes and manage the stacking and storing of boxes.
  • Load, unload, and stage boxes for pick-up, stacking them appropriately depending on their content.
  • Utilize scanners to track and trace inventory of materials and products.
  • Perform material look-ups using the SAP computer program.
  • Engage in general warehouse duties, including clean-up and stacking lids and bins.
  • Operate a forklift for 30-60% of the day if assigned to that area.
  • Lift up to 65 lbs as needed.

Essential Skills :

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, crop harvest, or construction background.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and hours.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • Experience with forklift operation is beneficial.
  • Willingness to commit to a long-term contract.

    Work Environment :

    The role is based in a crop manufacturing facility with a clean environment. It involves incoming and outgoing production-style manufacturing. The facility is non-smoking and may not be suitable for individuals with food allergies. Shifts are available as follows : 1st shift from 6 AM to 2 : 30 PM (Monday - Friday), 2nd shift from 12 PM to 8 PM (Monday - Friday), and 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 : 30 AM (Sunday - Thursday). This is a seasonal position with the potential to become permanent upon internal openings.

    Job Type & Location :

    This is a Contract position based out of GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
