The job duties of a certified pharmacy technician usually include the following :

Preparation of medications for patients.

Receiving and verifying prescriptions.

Pricing and filling prescriptions.

Obtaining pharmacist's approval.

Completing patient paperwork related to the filling of prescriptions.

Assisting with insurance claims processing.

Stocking and pricing medications in inventory.

Ensuring availability of drugs by delivering them to patients or facilities.

Maintaining safety by adhering to infection-control procedures, policies, and regulations.

Required to work every other weekend.
