About The Position
Job Title : Radiology Technologist

License : Licensed Radiology Technologist required for working in Kansas
Certifications : ARRT-R Required : Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT), BLS required
Must-Have : Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma
Description :
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department.
Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other associate technologists.
Act as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other personnel.
Ensure current standards of practice for the unit are maintained.
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures while providing safety for self and patients.
Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instruction regarding procedures.
Respond to patients’ physical and emotional needs during exams.
Assist and position patients during exams.
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting and documenting any unusual occurrences.
Facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment / resources.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all medical personnel, students, and staff.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
Complete required paperwork for each exam performed.
Prepare rooms, equipment, and exam materials needed for each exam.
Maintain the technical operation of equipment and notify services when necessary.
Notify supervisor of equipment problems and log service calls per procedure.
Maintain clean work areas for employees and patients.
Conduct quality checks and maintain documentation per procedure.
Identify problems proactively and follow up with appropriate personnel.
Establish a constructive rapport with colleagues across all departments.
Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education and share information with staff.
Floating may be required to any designated location within sixty miles of the original assignment.
Float assignments may include duties outside of original job requirements as per policy.
