POSITION DESCRIPTION :

We are looking for an enterprise Sr. Director HR Operations, Compliance & Talent Management to lead the strategic and operational delivery of HR systems, policies, compliance, and talent programs across a dynamic, growth-oriented solar energy organization. This role ensures the organization’s people operations are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business growth, while driving excellence across HR operations, workforce compliance, and talent development initiatives. The role will primarily support the Energy Solutions division of Qcells and have enterprise support for the Grid & Energy Services, Technology Group and Corporate Affairs Divisions as well.
The ideal candidate is a strategic systems thinker with operational discipline and is a builder of scalable people processes & culture. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and utilize data-driven decision making and HR analytics to inform the development of the people and talent strategies. They should also be able to develop a growing HR team and provide guidance and coaching to enable career growth for their organization.
This is a highly visible and impactful position that requires strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to lead and influence across a dynamic organization. This role serves as a potential successor to the VP, Head of HR position, allowing for career growth.
This is an on-site position based in Irvine, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Operations & Systems
Oversee all HR operational functions, including onboarding / offboarding / internal transfer and reorganization support as well as other items as it relates to employee lifecycle processes.
Optimize HR technology to enhance employee experience and data-driven decision-making.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline HR processes and ensure operational excellence.
Partner with Finance, IT, and Legal to ensure alignment and accuracy in reporting and data management.
Compliance & Risk Management
Own enterprise-level HR compliance, including wage & hour, EEO / AA, ADA, FLSA, pay transparency, and global employment law requirements.
Develop and maintain audit-ready HR policies and practices across jurisdictions.
Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and international employment regulations.
Monitor legislative updates and guide business units on required policy and procedural changes.
Talent Management & Development
Lead and execute talent management strategy encompassing performance management, annual review process, leadership development, succession planning, and employee / culture engagement.
Develop training curriculum to educate global leadership team on US compliance and management.
Implement frameworks for career progression, competency modeling, and high-potential development.
Partner with executive leadership to identify and cultivate future leaders through data-informed talent planning.
Drive adoption of talent analytics to measure engagement, retention, and performance outcomes.
Build leadership readiness and retention programs to sustain company growth and support a diverse, mission-driven workforce.
Leadership & Strategy
Serve as a key advisor to the VP HR and executive team on workforce optimization, organizational design, and culture evolution.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing HR team across operations, compliance, and talent disciplines.
Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement aligned with the organization’s renewable energy mission.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior HR operations or compliance capacity.
Deep knowledge of employment law, HR systems (Workday & ADP), and HR data governance.
Proven success designing and implementing talent management and development programs.
Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills with executive presence.
Demonstrated capability with change management and organizational agility
Experience working in complex organizations with multiple legal entities.
Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into actionable total rewards solutions.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and managing external vendor relationships.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing in fast-paced, evolving environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant HR certifications preferred, such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP.
Workday & ADP experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in global organizations preferred.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
