About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (1845-0645)

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care. Preferred : 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.

License : Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).

Certifications : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), BLS, ACLS, NRP.

Must-Have : Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program.

Description :

A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.

These procedures involve the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.

Respiratory Care services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed with the use of medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.

The responsibilities include the administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system.

Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is also essential.

Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises are part of the role.

Patient education, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is a critical component of care.

Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is required.

These procedures are performed in critical care and non-critical care areas, on patients of all ages.

The individual is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission and values of the organization.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.
