CNA - Cardiac Surgery Unit

PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Cardiac Surgery Unit for a part-time, 0.75 FTE night position. The salary range is $21.49 – $31.88.

Job Summary

Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

Essential Functions

• Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
• Perform basic technical skills, including CPR, taking and recording vital signs, measuring and recording fluid intake / output, applying dressings, recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions, and administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
• Assist patient with personal care, including bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, and eating and hydration.
• Help patient walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
• Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas.
• Document relevant patient care data.
• Provide clerical support to the unit (order entry, chart processing, answering telephones).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education – Certified Nursing Assistant program required.

Experience – Minimum 1 year preferred; required : graduate of an approved CNA program and demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development to meet each patient's needs.

Credentials – Certified Nurse Assistant, Oregon; Basic Life Support upon hire.

Skills – Courteous, caring, and understanding attitude; well organized, flexible, and able to function independently; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; creative problem-solving; excellent communication; basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills.
