Process Integration Engineer

Recruiting the best Engineering Talent within the Semiconductor industry across the United States

I'm seeking a Process Integration Engineer to join a semiconductor manufacturing facility based in Torrance, CA. This position is primarily responsible for integrating sequences for various optoelectronics devices.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Integrate process workflows for a range of optoelectronic devices, such as VCSELs, photonic integrated circuits, edge-emitting lasers, PIN detectors, and other essential optical components.
  • Develop comprehensive process documentation, including SOPs and training materials, to support smooth technology transfer from R&D to production.
  • Contribute actively to process development and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the compound semiconductor fabrication facility, focusing on optimizing yield, efficiency, and performance of optoelectronic devices.
  • Oversee project management responsibilities : communicate with customers, prepare detailed project timelines, provide regular progress updates, track milestones, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure deliverables achieved on schedule, within budget, and per specifications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS or MS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline, with 1-3 years of practical experience in optoelectronic device design and fabrication. Preference for strong academic qualifications and hands-on experience in semiconductor technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in III-V semiconductor design, fabrication processes, and integration methods, with solid understanding of material properties, growth techniques, and fabrication steps essential for manufacturing optoelectronic devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of cleanroom processes such as PECVD, wet etching, dry etching, photoresist patterning. Familiarity with semiconductor processing techniques for optoelectronic devices is key.
  • Proficiency in photo mask design, including use of CAD tools, necessary to ensure accurate patterning and fabrication of optoelectronic components.
  • Experience with SPC, DOE, and FMEA is an advantage, as familiarity with these methods aids in process optimization and continuous improvement.
