Join our closed-door pharmacy team as an IV Pharmacist Supervisor. Work in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy to execute day-to-day operational needs, including performing specified pharmaceutical and leadership functions as they relate to the safe and effective administration and delivery of medication to Clarest customers. The IV Pharmacist Supervisor oversees IV department workflow, ensuring that staff are appropriately trained and providing feedback to ensure staff perform their duties according to organizational standards and current priorities.
Location : On site at our closed-door Pharmacy (9006 Yellow Brick Road, Suite F, Baltimore MD, 21237)
Salary : 145,000 – 150, 000
Schedule : Monday – Friday 2 : 30 PM to 11 : 00 PM rotating weekends
Report To : Director of Pharmacy

Key Responsibilities :
Oversee pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate daily work schedules, monitor productivity, and adjust shift assignments as needed to optimize efficiencyOversee medication preparation, pharmacist verification (PV1 / PV2) to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillmentSupervise IV compounding processes, ensure compliance with USP 797 / 800 standards, and maintain appropriate certificationsAssist with inventory control, manage controlled substances, oversee NDC flips, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsMaintain licensure, adhere to state and federal regulations (DEA, CMS, Boards of Pharmacy), and ensure adherence to company compliance policiesProvide guidance to healthcare providers and facility staff on medication therapy, administration, and alternative optionsParticipate in training, coaching, and performance evaluations while addressing staff concerns and development opportunitiesEnsure proper documentation, conduct required audits (e.g., REMS drugs, automated dispensing audits), and implement quality control measuresWork with billing, customer service, and other departments to resolve medication-related issues and enhance overall pharmacy operationsThe ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance OfficerQualifications :
Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred) with an active license (good standing) to practice in the stateMinimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed pharmacist, with Long-Term Care (LTC) or healthcare environmentCompletion of USP 797 / 800 training and certification in sterile compoundingExperience in preparing and verifying IV medicationsDemonstrated ability to maintain proper aseptic technique in a cleanroom environmentProven ability to supervise and direct pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standardsStrong proficiency in pharmacy systems such as Framework, DocuTrack, and Automated Dispensing SystemsFamiliarity with Medicare Part D and formulary / clinical expertiseExceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask under pressureSkills + Abilities :
Leadership & Team Management – Ability to supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy staff while effectively managing workflow and performancePharmacy Operations & Regulatory Compliance – Strong understanding of IV pharmacy processes, medication dispensing, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and adherence to regulations (USP 797 / 800, DEA, CMS, Boards of Pharmacy)Clinical & Technical Expertise – Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations, IV compounding techniques, and the use of pharmacy systems (Framework, DocuTrack, CIM, automated dispensing systems)Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Ability to troubleshoot workflow issues, resolve medication-related concerns, and make timely, informed decisions under pressureCommunication & Collaboration – Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, facility staff, and internal teams while ensuring seamless coordination and patient careClarest is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
