Job Description
The Senior Director of IT Applications and Informatics is a visionary and strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the organization& application portfolio and informatics infrastructure. This role plays a pivotal part in leveraging technology to drive business innovation, optimize operations, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT application strategy aligned with the organization's overall business goals.
- Lead the identification, selection, and implementation of new applications that address critical business needs and improve efficiency.
- Manage the entire application lifecycle, including development, deployment, maintenance, and support
- Oversee the informatics infrastructure, ensuring its effectiveness in data collection, analysis, and presentation for informed decision-making.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT Applications and Informatics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure IT solutions deliver tangible value.
- Develop and manage the IT Applications and Informatics budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost optimization.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest IT trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Lead and participate in IT project management activities related to application and informatics initiatives.
Requirements
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role, with a proven track record of success in managing and implementing IT applications and informatics solutions.In-depth knowledge of informatics principles and practices related to data management, analytics, and reporting.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals, administrators and support staff from both medical and technology departments.Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Budget management and resource allocation expertise.Strong understanding of data security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.Proven track record of EMR implementation and optimization of analytics;Management experience with a track record of leading a collaborative team promoting creative problem solving in a fast paced environment;Dedication and on-going commitment to improvement of patient care utilizing existing and future technology solutions to assist;Experience with integration of information technology concepts into clinical practice;Ability to employ system wide thinking in development and deployment of technology;Ability to lead by example, and be recognized by peers as an excellent clinician and credible leader;Computer skills that are well above averageEEOC :
