We are seeking a detail oriented Discovery Specialist / Paralegal with expertise in managing complex family law discovery processes. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in handling voluminous document requests, and the ability to work independently while supporting our attorneys and clients throughout the litigation process.
Core Responsibilities
Discovery Management :
Manage all aspects of the discovery process in family law cases, including divorces, child custody disputes, alimony determinations, and related mattersCoordinate and oversee document production requests, interrogatories, and requests for admissionsReview, organize, and analyze voluminous financial records, bank statements, tax returns, and business documentsPrepare comprehensive discovery responses and ensure timely compliance with court deadlinesMaintain detailed discovery logs and tracking systemsCoordinate with opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes and extensionsCase Support :
Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, legal correspondence, and other case-related documentsHandle the collection, review, and organization of discovery materialsMaintain case files, ensure accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing materials, and manage deadlinesCommunicate with clients to request, obtain, and clarify necessary documents and informationDraft and file family law pleadings, motions, and orders with accuracy and efficiencyFinancial Analysis :
Prepare financial affidavits, child support calculations, and other financial discovery documentsAnalyze financial records to identify discrepancies, hidden assets, and income sourcesAssist with asset valuation and financial disclosure preparationCalculate income for support purposes using Florida guidelinesAdministrative Duties :
E-file court documents and maintain meticulous case calendarsCoordinate court appearances, mediations, depositions, and other legal eventsManage document production databases and electronic discovery platformsPrepare and organize supporting documentation for claims related to alimony, child support, and attorney's feesRequired Qualifications
Experience & Skills :
Minimum of 2 years of family law paralegal experience with specific focus on discoveryDemonstrated expertise in managing complex discovery processesProficiency in preparing financial discovery and child support guideline worksheetsStrong ability to analyze financial documents and calculate income for support purposesExceptional organizational and documentation skillsAdvanced proficiency with legal practice management software (Clio experience preferred)Knowledge of Florida Family Law, including state-specific procedures and requirementsPersonal Attributes :
