Job description

Registered Nurse – CVPICU (Night Shift) Location : OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Oregon Start Date : December 2, 2025 Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30, starting Tuesdays)

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced CVPICU Registered Nurse to join its pediatric critical care team. This role is designed for nurses with a strong background in cardiovascular intensive care and post-operative heart patients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver specialized care to pediatric patients requiring advanced cardiovascular support
  • Perform bedside procedures including central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation / extubation, CRRT initiation / discontinuation, ECMO cannulation / decannulation, and emergent operative interventions
  • Operate advanced equipment including Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun temperature management systems, and Baxter Prismaflex machines
  • Float to NICU and other pediatric units within the hospital as needed

Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience, including post-operative cardiac care
  • Active RN license or pending license with application submitted to the state board
  • BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
  • Experience with EPIC charting system
  • Additional Details :

  • First-time travelers accepted with PICU experience
  • Weekend shifts required
  • No call requirement
  • Block scheduling not available unless otherwise posted
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
  • Scrubs provided for OR; printed attire not permitted
  • Parking available at $15 / day (Monday–Friday, 8 : 00–17 : 00)
