The CASE Internship Program Manager will develop, implement, and oversee the first college-wide internship program for undergraduate students in the College of Arts, Sciences & Education (CASE). This role is foundational, requiring the creation of policies, processes, documentation, and partnerships that will support students in gaining meaningful experiential learning opportunities. The CASE Internship Program Manager will work closely with students, faculty, staff, employers, and community partners to ensure a high-quality and sustainable internship program. The position reports directly to the Director of Student Support Services.
Responsibilities
Program Development :
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design, launch, and refine the first college-wide internship program for CASE undergraduate students.
- In consultation with faculty, Career Services staff, and external partners, create the infrastructure for program administration, including forms, agreements, student / faculty handbooks, and process manuals.
- In consultation with faculty, establish guidelines and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and equity across all CASE departments.
- Collaborate with college leadership to set program goals, policies, and assessment measures.
- Develop a sustainable model for ongoing program growth, expansion, and employer engagement.
Internship Program Coordination :
Facilitate student learning by assisting them in securing appropriate internship opportunities.Communicate with faculty to coordinate student guidance, support, and evaluation.Meet with students prior to their internships to review responsibilities, documentation, and expectations.Maintain clear and timely communication with interns and site supervisors, including :Sending and tracking evaluationsScheduling internship meetings and workshopsConduct internship meetings with current and prospective internsEnsure all required internship documentation is complete and accurate before submission to faculty.In consultation with faculty and Career Services staff, recruit and cultivate new internship opportunities across diverse disciplines within the college.Employer & Site Development :
Initiate and build partnerships with employers, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and community organizations locally, regionally, and nationally.Evaluate and approve new internship sites to ensure quality supervision and training for students.Review internship requirements with site supervisors and provide training on evaluation expectations.Maintain and manage affiliation agreements in coordination with the College's administrative staff.Conduct site visits to promote students, evaluate placements, and strengthen employer partnerships.Program & Information Management :
Create and maintain an internship process manual and student handbook for CASE internships.Collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure academic quality and consistency of internship experiences.Develop and maintain a centralized database of approved internship sites.Coordinate program materials, forms, and internship communications through online platforms (e.g., Canvas, university website, marketing channels).
