Registered Dental Hygienist

Summary :

You will receive Medical Dental and Life Insurance. We also have vision at a very small cost.

To provide general preventative dental care to the Native American Indian population of the Round Valley Indian Community. To plan implement programs with the Dental Director and staff to increase dental awareness. To teach oral hygiene and promote the use of fluoride in our service area.

Duties :

Provide scaling, curettage and prophylaxes service to our patients. Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients. Develop with the Dental Director programs to disseminate information on preventive dentistry and oral hygiene. Provide fluoride treatments for patients. Expose process and mount radiographs on request of the dentist. Evaluate patients with periodontal disease by use of diagnostic skills, periodontal probe and periodontal evaluations forms. Ensure proper sterilization of all instruments used for scaling and prophylaxes. Develop and implement programs to promote fluoride, i.e. fluoride tablet program, community water fluoridation. Aid the Dentist in development and implementation of periodontal treatment plans for clinic patients. Keep current with new techniques and philosophy related to preventive dentistry and periodontics. Actively attend general and dental staff meetings. Perform expanded duties to the extent the law permits.

Qualifications :

Graduate of a credited dental hygiene program. Licensed by the State of California to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist. One year experience in private or clinical practice. Current radiation safety certification.
