Job descriptionA Master's Degree or credits towards a Master's Degree in a specialized field of education. Minimum of three (3) years' experience working in a school setting with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds. Experience working with young children in a preschool program, Pre-K to 3. Experience in functioning as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Familiarity with principles of family centered based services to include surveys and evaluations. Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Survey Monkey, and other software and Apps .
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Education Coordinator / Family Support Specialist creates and imple ments a developmental and culturally appropriate transition program to support the transition of students in the Morrell Neighborhood School into Kindergarten. The Education Coordinator / Family Support Specialist monitors progress of students transitioning into Kindergarten, acts as a liaison between the Greater Johnstown School District and the preschool program, and maintains an open, friendly, and engaging relationship with each child's family. The Education Coordinator / Family Support Specialist will assist families seeking resources.
