Application Engineer

Overview of the Position :

The Software Engineer I will participate with team members to improve business processes through new (modern) software, maintain and enhance existing software, and evaluate third-party applications / tools as required by end users, departments & business units. This position will perform program design, coding, system integration, development and execution of test plans, documentation and change management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Communicate with End Users / Business Leader to gather business requirements
• Develop new software programs and enhance / change existing software to meet business requirements and project requests.
• Troubleshoot and research software and data as requested by our business.
• Apply Agile / SCRUM principles.
• Participate in aligning custom business software with company growth strategies, market trends, acquisitions, etc.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Education / Experience Requirements :

Bachelor's / Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with 2 years software development experience.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
