Front Counter Associate

Located in Richmond, California, our 14-acre facility is fully stocked with extensive inventory, which allows for prompt delivery, product versatility, and customer satisfaction. We have the largest lumber delivery fleet in the Bay Area; our steadfast delivery services bring the materials you need to your front door.
Essential Duties
- Outward-facing, person-to-person communication with customers and Channel Lumber team members.
- Serve and assist retail customers.
- Receive and pull special orders and hardware orders from internal sales organization.
- Entering quotes and orders into system for sales processing.
- Receiving and processing phone orders from customers and the Channel Lumber sales team.
- Stocking store items and merchandising.
- Special projects serving the retail and inside sales organization as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years in retail or customer service, previous experience and product knowledge in hardware and / or building supply is strongly preferred.Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, preferably within a retail or customer service organization.Demonstrated aptitude in basic math.Previous experience in processing sales orders and partnership with internal sales organizations strongly preferred.Due to the customer base being served in this role, bilingual in English and Spanish required.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shiftRegularly lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 80+ lbs. with assistanceComfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing overhead storageTolerance for working in varied weather conditions, including outdoor lumber yard environmentsManual dexterity to handle tools, hardware, and small components with precisionVisual acuity to read labels, signage, and product information accuratelyAbility to safely maneuver in tight or crowded areas, including between shelving and stock zonesReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Pay range $25-$30 an hour, with benefits. This is a full-time, onsite role with standard weekday hours. Occasional weekend shifts may be required.
