Company Description

Vitreo-Retinal Associates is a well-established practice that specializes in diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. We have a satellite office in Texarkana, Texas and we need an ophthalmic technician on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.

Role Description

This is a part-time on site role for an Ophthalmic Technician located in Texarkana, TX. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for performing various clinical and administrative tasks, such as patient preparation, conducting diagnostic tests, documenting patient medical histories, and assisting the ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures. Daily tasks include taking patient medical and ocular histories, performing vision tests, assisting with minor procedures, and providing patient education and support.

Qualifications

• Experience in Optometry and Ophthalmology techniques and practices
• Skills in Fundus Photography and related diagnostic tests
• Proficiency in medical documentation as a Scribe and in understanding medical terminology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in ophthalmic technology is a plus
