Mill Crush / Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I Job Summary

Highly skilled mechanic who safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, installation and repair of crush and conveying equipment and related systems.

Mill Crush / Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I Position Responsibilities

  • Performs system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression / collection systems, mobile conveying systems ext.
  • Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, oil levels and lubrication systems.
  • Prioritizes and makes decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.
  • Trains and mentors other employees.
  • Performs advanced welding and fabrication.
  • May operate mobile equipment such as : Forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks.
  • Performs as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Mill Crush / Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I Position Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical / maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance / construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
  • The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills / abilities and / or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • The estimated pay range for this role is currently  $28.50 - $38.50 / hour.

    Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
