Foster Garvey PC, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading law firms, is looking for a Legal Practice Assistant with strong litigation experience to work in our Seattle location.
The successful candidate will be a team player, organized and detail-oriented. Strong client service and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to make well-reasoned, effective decisions and manage time efficiently will be crucial to your success, and you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This is a full-time, onsite position from our Seattle office, Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 am – 5 : 00 pm. Occasional overtime may be necessary to accommodate client needs.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare pleadings, correspondence, exhibits and other materials for litigation filings
- Schedule depositions and manage logistics with deponents and court reporters
- Monitor attorney calendars, docketing, and coordinate travel arrangements
- Assist attorneys with preparations for court hearings and trial
- Proofread for content and accuracy of information
- Assist attorneys with time entry and coordination of client billing statements
- Open new client matters and follow up on conflicts
- Act as liaison between attorneys, internal departments, clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Observe attorney-client confidentiality
- Work with vendors and process vendor invoices
- Obtain firm reimbursements through Chrome River for attorneys
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of litigation experience with both state and federal courts, and a strong working knowledge of court rules and procedures is requiredThorough knowledge and familiarity with common litigation procedures, terms, and protocolsFlexible and able to adapt to different work styles, take initiative and be able to anticipate attorney and client needsDemonstrate professional demeanor and communicate clearly and effectivelyAbility to show attention to detail in work productAbility to show sense of urgency when handling tasks for attorneysComputer savvy – must be proficient in MS Office, document management systems, and e-filing servicesEducation :
Bachelor’s degree preferredHigh school diploma required5+ years’ experience as a litigation legal secretary in a law firmNotary certification desiredPerks :

The pay range for this position is $70,000-$92,500 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
