Job Title : Chill Frozen Lead

Department : Grocery

Starting rate of pay : $17.50 / hr

Position Summary : Stocks merchandise and prepares displays, while maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment, while providing standard customer service.

Job Duties :

Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact

Assists customers on the grocery floor by finding items, returns stray items to their proper area, and removes damaged products from customer view and maintain product freshness

Responsible for orders, receiving, gross margins and warehousing of incoming merchandise from vendors.

Ensures signage and labels are accurate to ensure proper pricing.

Supervises, directs, guides, and trains all associates associated with the chill frozen department.

Stocks and rotates grocery items, while keeping all labels faced forward

Pulls empty cardboard boxes off the shelves from around the store and bales boxes following proper equipment procedures

Provides some cashiering and bagging help when needed, register accuracy, knows / carries out proper register procedures

Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by manager

Capabilities :

Stand for long periods of time, very frequent walking back and forth from grocery warehouse to grocery floor

Carry up to 60 pounds, push and pull up to 1000 pounds with pallet mule, frequent motions with arms / hands to stock items, bend to fill products on lower levels

Use of proper safety procedures

Able to multitask, listen to directions, team work and follow through independently when needed

Able to deal with difficult customers, have good communication and observation skills

Job Skills :

Previous experience working with the public

Able to use box cutters

Knowledge of location of products

Working knowledge of produce codes required, while able to differentiate between different produce products required when ringing

Environment :

Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind, chill temperatures when products need to be retrieved from chill and freezer

Very fast paced

Other :

Must be at least 18 years of age to ring register and operate machinery
