Role Snapshot
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair foundry equipment : furnaces, molding lines, core-making machines, grinders, conveyors, presses, and automated systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to prevent unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Strip down and reassemble machinery; replace bearings, gears, shafts, hydraulic components, and related parts.
- Weld, machine, and fabricate components needed to complete repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools and methods to solve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Maintain precise records for work orders, repairs, and inventory of parts.
- Support upgrades, modifications, and installations of new or retrofitted machines.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize impact on operations.
- Comply with all safety practices including lockout tagout and OSHA plus foundry-specific regulations.
Must-Have Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; additional technical or vocational training preferred.6 or more years of industrial maintenance or machine repair experience in a foundry, steel mill, or heavy manufacturing environment, or a completed journeyman program.Expertise with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear trains.Ability to weld, machine, and fabricate replacement parts.Proficiency reading blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.Competent with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools.Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.Ability to lift 50 plus pounds and work in hot, dusty, physically demanding conditions.Work Setting
Foundry environment with molten metal, high heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.PPE is required : steel-toe boots, face shield, respirator, gloves, protective clothing.Flexibility for multiple shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.Benefits and Perks
